Remembering Kobe Roundup: Pistons Introduced Wearing Jerseys With Bryant's Numbers
The death of Kobe Bryant produced a wave of tributes during Monday night's slate of games.
Ahead of the Detroit Pistons' Monday night matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Pistons warmed up wearing jerseys with the Nos. 8 and 24, and the name "Bryant" displayed on the back.
The jerseys were the first of Monday's on-court tributes to Kobe Bryant, who died Sunday at age 41 in a helicopter crash. Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna was also among the nine victims who were killed.
During Sunday's on-court action, players wrote messages on their sneakers paying tribute to Bryant. Arenas held moments of silence and teams opened with intentional 24-second and 8-second violations as a further gesture.
The Pistons and Cavaliers exchanged time violations to open their Monday night contest.
Here's a list of the other Bryant-related tributes from Monday night's NBA action:

UConn Pays Tribute to GiGi, Kobe Bryant Ahead of Exhibition vs. Team USA
UConn paid tribute to the death of Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna ahead of its exhibition against Team USA.
Ahead of Team USA's Monday night exhibition against UConn, the Huskies paid tribute to the death Kobe Bryant, Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna and the other seven people who died in Sunday's helicopter crash.
Gianna, known by many as GiGi, told her father she wanted to play for UConn. The Huskies honored her Monday night with her own jersey.
There was a 24-second moment of silence before tipoff and the teams took intentional violations to open the game, to honor Bryant.
News of the death of Kobe and his daughter produced a wave of shock throughout the sports world. Team USA forward, and UConn alum Breanna Stewart, was sitting in the hallway of her hotel on Sunday, looking at her phone, when she learned of the news.
Stewart said, "This can’t be true. This can’t be true," according to Sports Illustrated's Laken Litman.
According to Litman, Stewart quickly received countless texts from family and friends: “Did you see what happened with Kobe?"
Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli and his daughter, Alyssa, and wife, Keri, were also aboard the helicopter that crashed and killed nine people
The helicopter went down in the hills of Calabasas and a fire broke out. The crash occurred around 10 a.m. local time and the fire made it difficult for firefighters and emergency personnel to get to the aircraft, according to the city of Calabasas. Nobody on the ground was hurt.
The Lakers have not played since Bryant's death. The NBA announced Monday evening that Tuesday night's game against the Clippers would be postponed and rescheduled for a later date.
Stewart, the 2018 WNBA MVP, missed all of the 2019 season after rupturing her right Achilles tendon last April during the EuroLeague championship game. She is making her first appearance in game action on Monday.

The
sudden death of Kobe Bryant produced a wave of shock throughout the sports world. On Monday, one of Bryant's biggest competitors, Tracy McGrady, was brought to tears discussing his legacy on ESPN's "The Jump.""I'm devastated, just like everybody else," McGrady said.
The seven-time All-Star went on to relay a haunting story about Bryant.
“This sounds crazy, but Kobe spoke this, he spoke this,” the 40-year-old retiree told ESPN's Rachel Nichols.
“He used to say all the time, ‘I want to die young,’” he added.
Bryant, according to McGrady, would also say, ”‘I want to be immortalized and, you know, have my career be better than Michael Jordan and I want to die young.’”
Among the countless other tributes, a handful of Laker greats have shared their thoughts about Bryant. Magic Johnson called him "the greatest Laker of all-time." Shaquille O'Neal said that there were "no words to express the pain" he was feeling. Phil Jackson said that Bryant "transcended the norm," and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said he was "much more than an athlete."
